Akshata Samant –
selected from 4000 students of 20 Institutes, graduating during the eighth Convocation Ceremony of Symbiosis International University, as the Best Outgoing Girl Student and felicitated with the Late Jayatee Deshmukh Award at the hands of Her Excellency Pratibha Patil, President of the Republic of India.
Amruta Kharkar –
worked as assistant researcher in a study conducted on the subject : Role of media in shaping the opinion of under graduate media students about the SWOT of India as a Global leader: An analytical study. The same was presented at the 20th AMIC (Asian Media Information & Communication Centre, Singapore) Annual Conference, Hyderabad.
Shaan –
won the National Essay Competition, organised by Loyola Institute of Business Administration, Chennai & the University of Dayton, Ohio, USA on Women Entrepreneurship. Represented the country at the Business, Engineering, Science & Technology (B.E.S.T) Program at the University of Dayton.

Rohini Kejriwal –
co-edited a book, Down The Road, An Anthology of Short Stories by Indian Authors, and wrote two stories for the same.

worked as director’s assistant to Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra for a documentary on 100 years of Indian Cinema for the Cannes Film Festival produced by UTV. Shekhar Kapoor was the creative producer of the same.
Harshad Nalawade & Aditya Akash –
worked as an Assistant Director in the Panasonic Dimensions 3D Film competition.
Aditya Kumar, Paarth Garg, Vasanth Poodipeddi & Yashvita Bhasin –
made a 20 min stop motion photography film, The Yew Tree, which was showcased in the Panorama segment of the 5th Dhaka University International Short Film Festival. It was also adjudged the Best Technical Film winning individual awards for Best Cinematography & Best Editing at the Mini Box Office International Film Festival.

adjudged the Best International Press Reporter at MUNSOPHICAL.

won the Solo Singing competition at Malhaar (St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai) The event was judged by Shankar Mahadevan & Shreya Ghoshal.

Malhar
Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication - Undergraduate (SIMC-UG), Pune participated in the national level inter-college cultural festival Malhar Local 2012 annually organised by St. Xavier's University that took place between 17th & 19th of August, 2012.
The festival hosted a number of competitive events from various disciplines.
SIMC (UG) was placed second in the Outstation Categories of the Bollywood Dance, Street Dance and Stage Theater team events.
Sarjana Singh's (Batch of 2015) vocal talent got her the second place (over all) in the Solo Singing event.
